Is there a single database in California that I can research marrriage and divorce records?

I do not want to use an online (pay) service. Do I need to go to every counties recorders office?

    An onliine data base and some do yes you do yes you do.

    Public records can be requested by mail if you don’t want to access them online (there is still usually a fee involved). If you don’t know what facility the records were filled at, just call one of the offices and they can look it up for you.
